US Logs Over 2,000 New Coronavirus Deaths In 24 Hours

The United States has logged more than 2,000 coronavirus deaths in 24 hours.

According to an ongoing tally by Johns Hopkins University, the U.S. added 2,060 fatalities Thursday, the highest daily figure in three months, with the death toll nearing 160,000.

The country also reported more than 58,000 new infections for a total of more than 4.8 million cases.

The U.S. leads the world in both total cases and fatalities followed by Brazil, which has confirmed more than 2.9 million cases of COVID-19 and over 98,000 deaths.
