FM Kang Calls For Global Cooperation On COVID-19

Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha has stressed the importance of international cooperation to overcome the coronavirus pandemic.

Speaking virtually at a high-level meeting of the U.N. Group of Friends of Solidarity for Global Health Security on Wednesday, Kang said the willingness of countries to work together should not dwindle because of the negative impact the prolonged outbreak is having on global health as well as security and the economy.

She called for related support and special attention for vulnerable and marginalized groups.

Members of K-pop supergroup BTS also spoke during the event, and they urged the world's youth to seek out their dreams despite the challenges posed by COVID-19.

RM, the group's leader, said, "Now more than ever, we must remember who we are and face who we are. We must try to love ourselves and imagine the future."
