Second Vice Health Minister Kang Do-tae has expressed concern about another potential outbreak of new coronavirus infections as many people are expected to celebrate Halloween this weekend.
During a Central Disaster Management Headquarters meeting Monday, Kang urged the general public to refrain from visiting nightlife establishments such as nightclubs and bars.
He noted the mass outbreak of COVID-19 in Seoul's Itaewon area in May.
An average of over 100,000 people visit Itaewon each year for Halloween, according to the Yongsan District.
