South Korea plans to provide 200 million dollars in loans to various Asian countries hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic.

The finance ministry said on Monday that the loans will come from the Economic Development Cooperation Fund.

A total of 100 million dollars will go to the Philippines for medical supplies while Cambodia and Bangladesh will be given 50 million dollars each to help them strengthen their infectious disease response systems.

The government said the loans will also be an opportunity to promote its K-Quarantine model to fight infectious diseases, including the incorporation of drive-thru screening clinics and community treatment centers.
