Some members of President Moon Jae-in's entourage, which accompanied him during his Middle East trip, have tested positive for COVID-19.
"After returning home and taking PCR tests, a small number of accompanying personnel tested positive," an official at the presidential office said Friday, without specifying the exact number of cases.
Moon returned home last Saturday from an eight-day trip to the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
The president worked from home for three days until Tuesday in line with the government's quarantine guidelines.
Moon did not come into close contact with those infected and the top office took relevant measures to contain potential further spread of the virus, the official said, adding that no additional cases of infection have been reported.
