Officials from Seoul city's waterworks division prepare samples of tap water larvae.
Authorities in the capital say no irregularities have been detected in the water system amid reports of worm-like creatures coming out of local taps.
The Seoul Waterworks Authority held a press conference Tuesday and announced it found nothing wrong with its water purification process.
It said recent reports of larva-like organisms found in tap water were likely caused by external factors without elaborating.
According to the Seoul Metropolitan Government, a total of 73 related complaints were received from July 14-26.
To ease residents' concerns, Seoul city said it will continue to monitor its six water purification centers and carry out epidemiological surveys and analysis on the households that reported the worm-like creatures.
