A church in southern Seoul that apparently violated quarantine rules has been linked to at least 13 coronavirus cases.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government confirmed the latest church cluster during an online briefing Tuesday.

A text message alert from the Geumchon District Office informed anyone who visited the Jesus Vision Church from December 12-20 to get tested for COVID-19.

According to quarantine control officer Park Yoo-mi, an epidemiological survey found that over 120 members of the church gathered for an in-person worship service on December 13.

The first patient in this cluster was confirmed four days later.

Park said it's likely more cases will be identified as dozens of people are still waiting for their test results.

Local officials have strongly urged churches and other regligious groups to hold all services and events online.

The Jesus Vision Church was also linked to a small cluster of cases in June after it held a retreat.
