The annual New Year's Eve bell-tolling ceremony at the Bosingak Belfry in Seoul's Jongno District has been canceled due to the ongoing pandemic.
According to the Seoul Metropolitan Government, a pre-recorded video of the ceremony will instead be posted online.
It can be viewed via the city's official YouTube page and other social media platforms.
It's the second straight year the event has been canceled.
In 2020, it was called off for the first time in 67 years.
Other New Year's festivities nationwide, including the watching of the first sunrise, have also been scrapped.
