Heavy snow has blanketed Gwangju, parts of the Jeolla provinces as well as Jeju Island.

A heavy snow warning has been issued for North Jeolla Province, including Jeonju and Gochang, which could get up to 8 additional centimeters of snow through Monday evening.

Other southern regions are under advisories.

Authorities recommend people take public transportation as roads are expected to get icy due to the snow and cold temperatures.

Snowfall advisories and warnings have also been issued for the capital and Gangwon Province, as more flurries are forecast for inland areas until late this afternoon.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government says it will be on standby to clear roads and deal with any other weather related issues.
