South Korea will begin administering COVID-19 vaccines to people in their 50s in July.
Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency Commissioner Jeong Eun-kyeong gave the update in a parliamentary health committee meeting Wednesday.
She said people aged 18 to 49 can expect to get their first shot sometime in August.
But she said it's difficult to say at this point what type of vaccine people will receive in the next phase of the rollout, adding it will depend on supply.
The government is scheduled to announce a more detailed plan for third quarter vaccinations on Thursday.
South Korea is currently inoculating people with the shots developed by AstraZeneca, Pfizer, and Moderna as well as Johnson & Johnson's single-dose vaccine.
