The South Korean men's football team will face off against the under-23 national squad twice next month in preparation for World Cup qualifying matches.

The Korea Football Association announced Tuesday that the matches, originally scheduled for early September, have been rescheduled for October 9 and 12 at Goyang Stadium in Gyeonggi Province.

Both exhibition games will begin at 8 p.m., and potentially without fans if the government does not ease social distancing to the lowest Level 1 scheme.

They were planned as the men's national team has been unable to hold any international matches due to COVID-19 travel restrictions.

Footballers based in foreign leagues will not be called up to play due to the mandatory 14-day quarantine for all overseas arrivals to South Korea.
