North Korea is said to be removing propaganda loudspeakers it recently set up along the border.

Citing a South Korean military source, Yonhap News reported Wednesday that the North was seen taking down around 10 loudspeakers in some frontline areas.

Earlier, the military said Pyongyang had completed reinstalling some 20 loudspeakers along the Demilitarized Zone but didn't start broadcasts.

They were first dismantled in May 2018 in line with an agreement reached between President Moon Jae-in and the North's leader Kim Jong-un during their first meeting.

The latest apparent removal comes after Kim decided to suspend military action against the South.
