North Korea has said it will consider restarting "all temporarily-suspended activities" it had paused during its diplomacy with former U.S. President Donald Trump.
In 2018, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un announced a unilateral moratorium on nuclear and intercontinental ballistic missile tests in an attempt to leverage his country's weapons arsenal for much needed economic benefits.
According to the North's state media, on Wednesday, Kim presided over a Politburo meeting of the ruling Workers' Party where officials set policy goals for "immediately bolstering" their military capabilities to counter the Americans' "hostile moves."
It came after the Joe Biden administration imposed fresh sanctions last week over the regime's continued missile tests.
This month alone, the North has test-fired missiles on four occasions in violation of United Nations Security Council resolutions.
