Academy Invites 'Parasite' Stars, Staff To Be Members

The stars and staff of the Oscar-winning South Korean film "Parasite" have been invited to become new members of the U.S. Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

On Tuesday, AMPAS, which hosts the Academy Awards, unveiled a list of 819 new people from 68 countries to join the organization.

Among the 2020 class are Korean actors Choi Woo-sik, Cho Yeo-jeong and Park So-dam as well as film editor Yang Jin-mo and screenwriter Han Jin-won.

If they accept, they will be given the right to vote for awards.

At the 92nd Oscars held in February, "Parasite" won a whopping four awards, including Best Picture and Best Foreign Language Film.
