Officials in North Korea have reportedly warned that days of heavy rain could cause flooding or
landslides across the country.

According to AFP on Thursday, citing the North's official Korean Central News Agency, areas hardest-hit in the North by downpours include Hwanghae province, a major agricultural region.

An official of the State Hydro-Meteorological Administration was also quoted as saying, "It is important to take necessary measures for the regions which are in danger."

The KCNA did not mention any related casualties or damage.

At least 138 North Koreans died after torrential rain triggered major floods in 2016, according to the United Nations.
