Biden Clarifies US Travel Bans Will Stay Despite Trump Order

The incoming Joe Biden administration in the United States says its will maintain COVID-19 restrictions banning visitors from most of Europe and Brazil.

Biden's spokesperson, Jen Psaki, made the announcement on Monday via Twitter, shortly after President Donald Trump's administration ordered the measures to be lifted.

President Trump declared his intention to lift that ban starting from next week, some six days after he leaves office.

Not so fast, said the incoming Biden administration.

Their spokeswoman said they have no such plans to lift that ban.

Of course, combating the coronavirus is the number one priority for the incoming president, Joe Biden.

Mr. Trump, of course, been under pressure from the airlines.

Some of them have lost 95 percent of their business, as far as Europe is concerned, anyway.
