Cheong Wa Dae has been silent amid growing controversy surrounding late Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon and accusations he sexually harassed his former secretary.

An presidential official told reporters Monday there was nothing to say now, when asked about the latest statements issued by Park's alleged victim.

Representatives of the woman held a press conference earlier in the day calling for police and the Seoul Metropolitan Government to conduct a "proper probe" into the case and prevent "secondary damages" to the victim.

Highlighting the divisive nature of this scandal, more than 569,000 people have endorsed a petition on the Cheong Wa Dae website against the city's decision to hold an official five-day funeral for Park, despite the serious claims filed against him.

The presidential office is required to give an official response to petitions signed by more than 200,000 people in a month.
