The Seoul Metropolitan Government is holding a five-day funeral for Mayor Park Won-soon who was found dead early Friday after reported missing.

City officials said the funeral and service will be held at Seoul National University Hospital.

An altar will also be set up in front of City Hall for citizens who wish to pay their last respects.

Vice Mayor for Administrative Affairs Seo Jeong-hyup said in a press briefing that the city government will carry on with affairs in accordance with Mayor Park's philosophy that set priority on safety and welfare.

Seo will serve as acting mayor until a new mayor is elected in a by-election scheduled for April 2021.
