All 11 public parks along the Han River in Seoul remain closed amid flooding and heavy rain.

They include the Jamsil, Yeouido, Gwangnaru, Ttukseom and Nanji parks.

A flood advisory was issused for the Han River early Thursday, a first in nine years.

The Seoul city government has asked citizens to refrain from visiting the parks for the time being, even after water levels recede, as part of precautionary safety measures.

The city is expected to keep the parks closed until necessary restoration work, including inspections and cleanup, is completed.
