The Yongsan District Office will launch an inspection of local nightlife establishments next week ahead of Halloween, when parties and events are usually held.
Facilities designated as high risk amid the coronavirus pandemic, such as clubs and bars, will be checked to ensure they are adhering to quarantine guidelines, including keeping visitor logs, taking temperature checks and the mandatory use of face masks.
The inspections will be carried out starting Monday.
This comes after a mass outbreak hit the district's Itaewon area in May.
Officials from the district will work with Seoul city and the police to carry out nighttime street patrols and crack down on quarantine violations next Friday and Saturday.
Yongan District Office chief Sung Jang-hyun has asked the general public to refrain from visiting the area this Halloween and for facilities to follow antivirus measures.
