The Seoul Metropolitan Government say it is gearing up to fully vaccinate more than 2,300 homeless people in the capital starting from July.

According to local officials, the group got their first dose of COVID-19 vaccines earlier this year.

Most of them are homeless shelter residents.

Once they receive their second shot, the city will have fully inoculated 79 percent of its homeless population.

Kim Sun-soon, the city's head of welfare policy, stressed the importance of getting every citizen vaccinated and urged those living on the streets or at shelters to get vaccinated to protect themselves and those around them from the coronavirus disease.
