The Korea National Park Service is urging people who visit mountain streams and beaches this summer to follow water safety rules.

The organization on Thursday recommended people to do warm up exercises before going into the water and only swim in designated areas.

It also warned against drinking alcohol and to avoid high tides at beaches, adding people should stay out of the water when heavy rain alerts are issued.

The park service plans to dispatch officials to over 21 national parks to conduct inspections and ensure the rules are followed properly.
