The Korea Forest Service upgraded the country's landslide alert level on Monday to "caution" as heavy downpours continue to hit the southern regions.
Landslide advisories have already been issued for parts of North and South Gyeongsang as well as North Jeolla Province, where some areas have received over 190 millimeters of rain from Sunday.
Officials have received various reports of flooding and downed trees.
The agency plans to be on standby around the clock as showers continue.
Lee Kwang-ho, a forest service official in charge of landslide prevention, has called on the general public to pay attention to advisories and to follow emergency alerts in the case of an accident.
