The head of the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency says coronavirus vaccines will be provided free of charge to foreigners who reside in South Korea.

Commissioner Jeong Eun-kyeong gave the update in a regular press briefing on Monday, adding that procedures and other details about the vaccination program will be discussed with the foreign ministry.

Last week, President Moon Jae-in announced that the vaccines will be provided to every South Korean at no cost.

Jeong explained the government will begin taking reservations for shots next month and that certificates showing proof of vaccination will be made available for those who need them.

Medical workers, the elderly and people with underlying conditions are first in line to get vaccinated.

South Korea has secured enough vaccine doses for 56 million people, more than enough to inoculate its entire population.
