North Korea has resumed hurling insults at South Korea, calling the country a pro-U.S. flunky.

Referring to the South Korea-U.S. working group, Tongil Voice, a propaganda radio station, criticized Seoul Friday of seeking to gain from its ties to the U.S., even as inter-Korean relations face a crisis.

The outlet called Seoul a puppet that failed to fulfill inter-Korean agreements while justifying Washington stepping up pressure on Pyongyang through sanctions.

The criticism came days after North Korean propaganda outlets abruptly took down articles critical of South Korea en masse on Wednesday.

Despite the North's resumption of criticism of the South, observers see it as relatively toned-down since the accusation was issued through a propaganda outlet, not through official media outlets.
